The monument to the fallen of the Great War in Avellino is located in Largo De Luca, the perspective fifth of Via Giacomo Matteotti, in the heart of the city. Inaugurated in 1943, it replaced the ancient bronze monument that was located in Piazza della Libertà, formerly Piazza della Rivoluzione, after it was melted down for wartime needs.
