The Ear of Dionysius is an artificial cave located in the ancient stone quarry known as the Latomia del Paradiso, beneath the Greek Theatre of Syracuse. Carved into the limestone, it is approximately 23 m high, 5 to 11 m wide, and extends 65 m in depth, with a S-shaped curve that also makes it a place of acoustic amplification of sounds.
