Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo

Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo — San Michele di Serino

The parish church of the village stands where, in the 7th century, during the Lombard era, there was a chapel dedicated to Archangel Michael. Rebuilt several times over the centuries, it was destroyed by the earthquake of November 23, 1980, and entirely reconstructed based on the design of architect Giuseppe Lombardi, recovering elements of the original building: it was inaugurated on June 30, 1993. Inside, it houses a precious Holy Family attributed to Francesco Solimena, one of the great masters of Neapolitan Baroque. It is the religious and symbolic heart of the community, located in Piazza Don Pasquale Lamberti.
