Museo Regionale di Messina — Messina

The Accascina Regional Museum of Messina is an Italian museum. Also known as MuMe, it is the largest museum in Southern Italy by total area. The structure spans a total area of about 17,000 m², surpassing even the Capodimonte Museum in Naples, which covers approximately 15,000 m². It is located in Messina, and until 2017 it occupied the premises of the former Barbera-Mellinghoff silk factory, a late 19th-century building, identified after the earthquake in 1908 as the museum's location. Today, the collection is displayed in an adjacent complex designed in the 1970s and inaugurated in 2017. (Entry from the Italian Wikipedia page, CC BY-SA.
