The Sicilian cart is an animal-drawn vehicle used for transporting goods, in use throughout the Sicilian territory from the 19th century until the second half of the 20th century, when it became obsolete due to the increasing motorization of work in the countryside. Built with various types of wood, often adorned with bucolic carvings and vibrant painted decorations, today it has become an object of artisanal art, as well as one of the symbols of Sicilian folkloric iconography.
