The Church of San Nicolò l'Arena in Catania is a Catholic place of worship, located in Piazza Dante. With an area of over 1500 m2 and a maximum height of about 66 m at the dome, it is the largest church in Sicily. The current place of worship, built after the eruption of Mount Etna in 1669, replaces an older Renaissance temple dating back to 1578. (Entry from the Italian Wikipedia page, CC BY-SA.
